Pro Tips
- • Don't press too hard—let gravity do the work
- • Serve immediately to prevent over-extraction
- • Use coarser grind to avoid sediment
- • For iced coffee, use double strength and pour over ice
Step-by-Step Instructions
Preheat the Press
Fill your French press with hot water to preheat it. This helps maintain brewing temperature. Discard after 30 seconds.
Step 1 Image
Grind Your Coffee
Grind 30g of coffee to a coarse consistency, like breadcrumbs. Coarse grounds prevent over-extraction and make pressing easier.
Step 2 Image
Add Coffee and Water
Add the ground coffee to the press. Pour 360g of hot water (93-96°C) over the grounds, ensuring all coffee is saturated.
Step 3 Image
Stir and Steep
Give the mixture a gentle stir to break the crust. Place the lid on top without pressing. Let steep for exactly 4 minutes.
Step 4 Image
Press Slowly
After 4 minutes, press the plunger down slowly and steadily. Apply gentle pressure - let gravity help. Stop if you feel resistance.

Serve Immediately
Pour all the coffee immediately into cups or a thermal carafe. Leaving coffee in the press causes over-extraction and bitterness.
